A review of Cafe on the Corner Lookout Mountain Tennessee.
I had a photoshoot on Point Park last week and talked my husband into coming with me. I told him we could go early and walk around and eat at Cafe on the Corner and then do my photoshoot (which was a surprise engagement session!) I follow them on Instagram and everything looks so delicious!
We got there early and were seated immediately. I loved the decor, so simple and classic in shades of taupe, black and white. Everything sounded so good. I was torn between the Seared Salmon, the Candied Pecan Salad or the Summer Sampler. Those all sound healthy, right? So, what did I choose? The Mountain Burger! I couldn’t help it… brioche bun, ground beef, bacon, cheddar, smoked gouda, monterey jack cheese, black pepper aioli and tomato. Three kinds of cheese! Bacon! Brioche bun! The hubs and I both ordered the same thing. We couldn’t help it…did I mention it had three kinds of cheese?!
I don’t think I can say enough good things about this burger. It was perfectly cooked, so juicy I had to be careful not to let the juices run down my arm. The cheeses all blended together into a perfect flavor of cheese heaven. The bacon. My heavens, the bacon. Normally bacon gets lost on a burger, especially one loaded with cheese. Not this bacon. First of all there was plenty of it, no measly slices here. And second of all, it was the most flavorful bacon that I’ve ever had. Seriously amazing. I didn’t make a note of it, too busy stuffing my face with this burger, but I believe it was Benton Bacon.
As if the burger wasn’t enough, it also came with homemade chips! Homemade chips always elevate a restaurant in my eyes.
Amazing food, will definitely be back!

It looks like they don’t have the beer-battered fried okra on their menu anymore, which is a shame! It was so good when we went there last year. Maybe they switch their menu out regularly? I had pasta and Philip had the meatloaf, which were both fab – but those burgers look delicious! We need to make a trip back!
