Choosing A Fall Capsule Wardrobe
Around here the kids have gone back to school and that means fall is just around the corner. I am so excited that this will be my first fall with a capsule wardrobe! If you check out my fashion tab in the menu bar, you can see my capsule wardrobe journey. After having loved my summer capsule wardrobe, I am ready to choose my fall capsule. I am using the e-books from Classy Yet Trendy as a guideline and map, it makes it so easy. I will also be adding an modifying to the wardrobe, making it more my own.
The Fall Essentials has a nice color palette: black, white or ivory, gray, burgundy, olive and blue. I like those color choices and I really like that olive sleeveless vest! If you do too, these are some of my faves: Military Twill Vest, Ro & De Distressed Utility Vest, and DR2 Utility Vest. I already have some burgundy jeans, so there is a lot that I like about this collection. However, I did the French Minimalist Summer Capsule Wardrobe, so I also wanted to check out the Fall version of it.
The French Minimalist Fall 2017 Capsule Wardrobe has the same color palate as the summer. They are black, gray, white, ivory and beige. This is really convenient because a lot of my summer pieces will naturally transfer over to fall. If you read this blog post, Adding Blush to Your Capsule Wardrobe then you know that I chose to add blush to my wardrobe. It’s such a soft desaturated color that it almost feels like a neutral to me.
As as excited as I was about the olive utility vest in the essentials collection, I am even more excited by the black leather jacket in the minimalist! I lived in a black leather jacket in college back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Can I do it again? Am I too old? I say pshaw. That’s right pshaw! I’ve already started looking and have my eye on these: Leather Look Jacket, Asymmetrical Leather Jacket, and Faux Leather Moto Jacket.
French Minimalist Capsule Wardrobe Fall 2017
You’ve probably figured out that I’m sticking with the French Minimalist version for fall. Everything in it just works for me. Though I think I might make a mini capsule with some browns in it, just because I already have some brown corduroys that I love and some brown boots!

You should splurge and buy a real leather jacket. I found a nice one reasonably priced on eBay Faux leather is not very durable. And it doesn’t feel the same. A good leather jacket will last for years.
Oh, I agree! I learned my lesson with faux boots, they just don’t last. Though I know some people who are vegan that won’t wear leather.
It would be fun to try a capsule wardrobe sometime. All lot of these pieces are things I have and it might make getting dressed easier!

I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe but I’m not very disciplined at streamlining my clothes. I have most of the pieces in the French capsule wardrobe though so plenty of outfit ideas here! Thanks for linking up!
