So, it’s been a while since I’ve done a Fashion Over 50 post. I’m not sure why. Well, I know why, I’ve been really busy and something had to give and fashion it was. But I missed it a lot. I missed the excuse to go out and buy something new every now and then. Because I had to. It was my job. So, I’m happy my job is back. To celebrate, I went out and bought two shirts today. I’m back in the game people.
Today I want to talk about purses. We love our purses don’t we ladies. It’s one of the first accessories we get as little girls. I remember filling mine with candy and a comb. The necessities of life as I knew it. I read it somewhere that you shouldn’t skimp on purses and shoes, because if you buy good quality they will last. After years and years of cheap purses, I decided to take that to heart and I bought a fairly expensive purse last year. Not crazy expensive, I’m not a tv or movie star, but expensive by my standards. And you know what? After about 9 months the strap broke. When I took it back to the store, they told me I had to take photos of it, my receipt and I think my first born child, and send it to the designers customer service. Guess who never got around to doing that?
Now that I’ve determined my purse doesn’t have to be expensive, my only checklist is that it must be cute and I must love it. See the purse above from Charming Charlie? It’s cute and I love it, check and check. So, for a fraction of the cost of my expensive purse, I have a purse I really love! It goes perfect with my outfit don’t you think? And speaking of outfits, in case you were dying to know what I was wearing, here is the breakdown. I made my shirt from a pair of vintage curtains, my jeans are some Calvin Klein boyfriend jeans, and my sandals are Bare Traps.
It’s good to be back to Fashion Over 50, though while I was away, I had a birthday and now I’m even closer to having to change it to Fashion Over 60. Yikes!

Nothing wrong with being over 60, I say as I head to 66. lol I am sorry you had bad luck with your more expensive purse, that sucks. I have blogged a couple of times about purses myself, I am a handbag snob, I thought I would lose this trait when I retired but not so far. Cute top and I like Bare Traps, always comfortable.

Oh no that is terrible about the strap to the purse, I am sorry that happened. You have a cute purse and tee in this post though. Looking good!
