Easy Bistro Bar & Grill Chattanooga TN

By Pam Greer Leave a Comment

A review of Easy Bistro Bar & Grill in downtown Chattanooga, TN.

Easy Bistro Bar & Grill, Chattanooga TN table and chairs

Before a musical at the Tivoli, the hubs and I walked down to Easy Bistro Bar & Grill for dinner.  I had heard so many good things about it and drooled over their photos on Instagram.  I will begin by saying that I love their decor.  Elegant and yet casual.  We sat along one wall with marble top tables, chairs and a tufted back bench.  I’m not really fond of this kind of arrangement, because one person ends up looking at a wall all through dinner (well and their date too, but you get what I’m saying.)

Cocktail from Easy Bistro Bar & Grill downtown Chattanooga

I didn’t make any notes about my cocktail, but it was orange and pretty and came with a flower.  It was also delicious.

The menu is divided between Snacks, Small, Medium, Large, Classic and Dessert.  My eyes immediately fell on marinated olives under snacks.    With that, I decided to order a few smalls and a medium.  For my smalls, I ordered Marinated Olives and Ceviche.  It was understood that the hubs would eat most of the Ceviche and I would get most of the olives. I don’t share olives easily.

The olives arrived in a small bowl with some perfectly toasted sourdough bread.  There was a nice variety of olives and they were all wonderful! Ceviche from Easy Bistro Bar & Grill Chattanooga TN

The Ceviche was fresh and light and served with lavash.  There was quite a bit of the slaw in relation to the fish, but it was very tasty.

Duck Breast from Easy Bistro Bar & Grill Chattanoga TN

My husband ordered the Duck breast, which was on the medium menu.    It was cooked perfectly and served atop a pea and strawberry salad.  I personally didn’t like the pea strawberry combination, but he loved it.

Trout Almondine from Easy Bistro Bar & Grill in downtown Chattanooga TN

I also ordered from the medium section of the menu, with the trout almondine.  The waiter explained to me that it was just a  serving of fish and that items in the snack, small and medium were designed to be combined.  I assured him that I would be fine with the olives and the fish.  It was just fish with almonds in a brown butter sauce with a few watercress leaves.   Let me tell you, this was the best trout I have ever eaten in my life.  I took small bites and savored each and every one.

This did turn out to be a pretty expensive meal, but we knew that going in.  Everything was delicious and I would definitely like to go back and try a few other things and I definitely want to try their brunch!
