Thai Esan

Fresh roll and spring roll from Thai Esan

I just love discovering restaurants that I didn’t even know we had here in Chattanooga.  The truth is I don’t frequently find myself in the East Ridge area, so I really had no idea what restaurants were available.  But last Saturday my husband and I found ourselves near there and we were craving Thai.  I put it in Yelp and up popped Thai Esan!   We were the first ones there and chose a seat by the window.  Our server came over immediately with menus.

We ordered fresh rolls and then were pleasantly surprised when she brought out two complimentary spring rolls.  The spring rolls were delicious, not greasy at all.  The fresh rolls were also wonderful, very light.

Red curry at Thai Esan

My husband ordered the red curry.  Though you can’t tell from my top down photo, it was a deep bowl, a nice generous serving.  It was filled with chicken, green peppers, carrots, and what looked like basil.  He said it was delicious, nice and spicy.

Beef Pho from Thai Esan

I ordered the beef pho.  The broth was rich, flavorful and perfectly balanced.  The thin slices of rare beef were so unbelievably tender.   I don’t know if it was how they cut it or the beef that they used, but it was the best that I’ve ever had.  The meatballs were also good.  it came with the usual condiments.

We will definitely be back, every thing was wonderful!
