The Best Western Plus Victorian Inn in Monterey was probably one of our most favorite hotels of our whole trip to California. The room was big and lovely.
There was a large wooden desk with a strip of plugs that made charging all of our electronics very easy! Instead of spreading everything out all over the room where ever we could find an outlet, our phones and iPads were kept in one easy location.
We had a large corner room that had a bay window seating area and a fireplace! There was complimentary wine and cheese in late afternoon and we enjoyed meeting a few of the other guests at the hotel. The next morning the complimentary breakfast was also very good. I had french toast, sausages, yogurt and a banana.
The front desk clerk was very friendly and gave us an excellent recommendation for a restaurant (Sea Harvest Restaurant and Fish Market) – it was someplace we probably would not have chosen on our own and it was wonderful.
Lovely, lovely hotel. I only wish that we had stayed there longer than one night!
I lived in Monterey 1979-1980 while I was attending the military language school at presidio. I loved that year!
