Eating Out in Pismo Beach | Cracked Crab

By Pam Greer 1 Comment

Cracked Crab Fish Tacos

As we did everywhere we stopped on our California trip, we asked the locals where to eat.  At Pismo Beach, several people suggested Cracked Crab.   We got there on a Monday evening around 6 and were seated immediately.  We had a small table in the corner that was perfect.  Our server was very attentive.  We had narrowed our choices and she helped us choose the fish tacos.  We both started with a glass of wine and the clam chowder.

Cracked Crab Clam Chowder

The clam chowder was good with big chunks of potatoes and nice sized bites of clam.  It was a bit thinner than the clam chowders that we had been having on our trip, but still good.  The sourdough bread was wonderful.

The fish tacos were very good.  The fish was light and crispy.  Salsa was excellent with a nice flavor from the cilantro.  Served with double tortillas.  The tortillas were good, very flavorful.  Almost too flavorful, the almost overpowered the fish, so I just used one tortilla.  The fries were excellent even though they seemed like a strange accompaniment to fish tacos.

Overall, we enjoyed our meal.
