I have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. When I was little one of my greatest joys of summer vacation was the weekly trip to the library. Every week I would go in, peruse the shelves, and take home a stack of books, usually six to seven books. That way if I read a book a day, I could make it until the next week. I started out reading Lois Lenski, then moved on to Louisa May Alcott, then Carolyn Keene, then Judy Blume. After awhile, Stephen King, Clive Barker, Piers Anthony and John Updike joined the stack. Books have been my one constant companion through my whole life.
One day, while off on some internet tangent I stumbled upon Out of Print’s Library Stamp t-shirt. I showed it excitedly to my husband and then promptly forgot about it as I continued on the spider web of the internet. Then a few months later for my birthday, I opened up one of my presents and there it was!! What a fantastic surprise! I love this shirt!
It’s so weird to think that something that was such an integral, almost daily part of life as a child, teenager, and most of my adult life, is now not going to be a part anymore of mine or anyone’s life. There will be generations that have no idea why I think this shirt is so cool. I know it’s progress and for the most part I embrace progress with all my heart – just ask my Kindle, my iPhone and my iMac, but still some things are hard to let go of. Luckily I can wear a little bit of something that meant so much to me.

I love the concept of this tee. I think I would create a D.I.Y option featuring important dates in my life.
Happy Thursday 🙂
