Eating Out in Chattanooga | Ari’s Harbor Lights

Ari's Harbor Lights Breakfast | Grey is the New Black

Ari’s Harbor Lights Restaurant and Lounge has a full menu, but I’m going to talk about my favorite part – their breakfast buffet!  First I have to admit that I’ve rarely met a breakfast buffet that I didn’t like.  There is just something about all you can eat bacon that makes me very, very happy.

We arrived on a Sunday morning at just a little after 10:00 o’clock.  There were about 4 other tables filled, since it was such a lovely morning, we decided to sit outside.    The waitress came to us before we even had a chance to sit down and asked what we would like to drink and to ask if we were getting the buffet (coffee, and we were).

On my first trip through the buffet, I filled my plate with scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuit and gravy, a few hash browns, and grits.  The eggs are cooked perfectly – still a little soft with a buttery goodness.  The bacon is also perfect, not overly done and not under done – really just right.  The biscuit and gravy are pretty standard and good.  The grits are excellent.  Cheesy and sweet.  (I’m thinking mascarpone cheese – maybe a little maple syrup??).

On my second trip through, I filled up with fruit:  watermelon and cantaloupe.  Hubs and daughter got a pancake and fruit for their second trip through.

The waitress came by several times to refill our coffee.

When we finished eating, the restaurant was starting to fill up.  Several people had arrived by boat and used the convenient boat dock.   As we were paying, we talked about coming out some Friday or Saturday evening.  It would be a wonderful place to sit outside and look at the lake or stay inside and listen to the band.

A nice breakfast buffet (nothing too fancy), made even nicer by sitting outside and enjoying the view (ignoring the cooling towers).
