Apple Elderflower Martini
Are you looking for a martini that everyone will love? Well, here it is! This was amazing. So good. It has such an interesting flavor – sweet, but not overly. It doesn’t really taste like apple. The elderflower and the apple blend together to form a completely different flavor. Then as your are sipping you pick up a bit of the cucumber and the mint.
I found this recipe in Donna Hay’s Magazine Issue #66. If you don’t live somewhere that you can pick up her magazine, you can do what I do and get her wonderful iPad app. It is by far my most favorite app on my iPad. There is a photo for every recipe and a recipe index that you can browse the photos and then go directly to whatever looks good to you.
I was looking for an excuse to try Elderflower liqueur and this seemed like a great one to try it on. I found St. Elder Natural Elderflower Liqueur and Grays Peak Small Batch Vodka at my local liquor store, and some organic apple juice and I was ready to go.
It is so good, you are not going to believe how easy it is. We sat on the back porch on a lazy Saturday afternoon and sipped away. We had to convince ourselves not to immediately make a second pitcher!
