Summer Living in Linen

I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but this week has been the hottest week of the year!  We had plans to go to a Sip and Savor event held at the Chattanooga Choo on Saturday evening.  The temperature was supposed to be in the high 90’s with it feeling like it was in the 100’s!  This was really concerning, since I hate hot weather.  I hate normal hot weather, so when it gets really hot, I try not to venture out, except in the early morning.  But having my capsule wardrobe, made it really easy to decide what to wear!

For this outfit I paired a linen top, shorts and sandals.   Both of these linen items were bought as I built this capsule wardrobe.  I admit, that I probably would have not gone actively looking for either item had it not been for putting together a capsule wardrobe, but now I love them and they were perfect for the event Saturday night!  I found the Jones of New York sleeveless top at Marshall’s, some others that I like:  Tory Burch Sleeveless Linen Top and White Company Sleeveless Linen Top.   I found the slate colored linen shorts at Cato,  some similar: Amadi Mia Pleated Linen Shorts  and Rocco Linen Shorts.

You can see the whole outfit is kitty cat approved!  This was my first experience using my capsule wardrobe where I needed to specifically dress a certain way.  It worked beautifully.  There were a few options that would have worked for the hot weather, but going for the linen was a no brainer.  I love how seamlessly everything goes together.  You can find all of my Capsule Wardrobe posts here.

Agreed about staying indoors when it gets close to 100! This linen look though is so cool and easy – and you look wonderful. Thanks for linking, xo

I, too, am not a fan of the hot weather but linen is the way to go, isn’t it? Your outfit is lovely for the heat though.
    Have a great day!
