A review of Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint in the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t usually associate good food and airports. So, when we found ourselves with a pretty decent layover around lunch time at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, we figured it would be some sort of fast food. Then we stumbled upon Sweet Geogia’s Juke Joint.
There are lots of tables, but it surprisingly doesn’t feel crowded. We found a small two top table. We were waited on immediately and chose the Fried Chicken with Two Sides for $12. I was hoping for something pretty good and what I got was not pretty good, it was excellent!
The fried chicken was moist on the inside and extra crispy on the outside, just how I like it. The side salad was not your average side salad, it had greens, tomatoes, walnuts, and goat cheese! The mac and cheese was fantastic. It had a different sort of earthy essence to it, maybe thyme? Whatever it was, I loved it. My husband got the baked beans and they were also delicious – with obvious molasses flavors.
The whole music and vibe of the place is very nice.
Will definitely plan more longer layovers in Atlanta!
