We arrived in McMinnville in time to check into our flat and have a quick stop at a tasting room before dinner. At the tasting room, we asked for recommendations for dinner and La Rambla seemed to be at the top of everyones list. As a bonus it was just around the corner from our flat! We were tired and didn’t feel like choosing several tapas items, though they all sounded good. What sounded even better was the La Placa De Madera. It was a little bit of this and that all on a wooden board that served 2, easy peasy.
It was absolutely perfect! It had bacon dates, lamb skewers, chorizo jamón serrano, roasted almonds, marinated olives and boquerones. According to the menu it also had fruit, but ours didn’t. It was exactly what we were in the mood for. We nibbled our way through it and then decided to reward ourselves with the Chocolate Picada Torte.
We shared a serving of the Chocolate Picada Torte which was a chocolate torte layered with Marcona almond icada and chocolate ganache, and finished with a strawberry-pinot noir reduction. It was rich and heavenly.
Everything was very tasty, the service was excellent, we will definitely be back if we visit McMinnville again!
