When we spent the night in Monterey, California, we needed to find a place to eat dinner. The Sea Harvest Fish Market and Restaurant came highly recommended.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is that yes, it is indeed a fish market. There is a counter display case filled with fresh fish. But in front of that counter is a chalkboard menu displaying the specialties of the day for restaurant located on the other side. The restaurant and the market are separated by a small waist high wall, so you are really eating in a fish market. It doesn’t get much fresher than that!

There were only a few tables occupied when we got there, but by the time we were finished, it was almost filled, and we know why. The food was excellent.

We went with the sablefish that was on special. It was excellent! The fish was tender and moist and unbelievably fresh. It literally melted in your mouth. The rice was perfect and was served with big chunks of carrots and broccoli. Even the coleslaw was not your standard coleslaw – it was obviously homemade with raisins and sunflower seeds in it! Everything was excellent!
We are so glad we decided to eat there and as a bonus it was even with walking distance of our hotel, Best Western Plus Victorian Inn.
Highly recommend!
