A review of Seoul Garden Korean Restaurant in St. Louis, Missouri.
I love that Chattanooga seems to get new restaurants every month, but what we don’t have is Korean barbecue. On a trip to St. Louis, we drove by Seoul Garden Korean Restaurant and made a point to visit the next evening. We were there early on a Monday evening, it was not crowded and we were seated immediately in a big booth. It’s a lucky thing that the table was big, because we needed it to hold all of our food!
We both chose the unlimited barbecue because we wanted to get the full experience. It was $20 a person, but included unlimited meat, unlimited sides and unlimited rice. For our meats we started out with beef bulgogi and spicy chicken. We chose kimchi soup for our soup and some Korean beer to drink.
Within minutes after ordering, a flurry of activity starts our table. They bring what seems to be an endless supply of small dishes. They don’t tell us what each one is, so we play a guessing game the tasty little dishes. Then they bring a grill to our table and our meats and our soup. We don’t really know what we’re doing, but we start the meats cooking.
We start sampling bits of everything and our meats. It is all excellent. We love the kimchi soup. We quickly find favorites amongst the little dishes and they empty out. After a short while, our server comes back and asks if we need any refilled. We give her all our empties and she brings back more.
When we have nibbled the last bit of meat, she comes back and starts to scrape and clean our grill and asks us what meat would like next. I think we shock her when we say we are full! We probably should have paced ourselves better, but all the sides were so good, we couldn’t help it.
We will definitely go back!
