Sonoma Ombre Crinkle Tank | Fashion Over 50

By Pam Greer 9 Comments

This Sonoma Ombre Crinkle Tank is so light and comfortable, perfect for out hot summers!

Sonoma Ombre Crinkle Tank

While I have to admit that I am ready for fall, these slightly cooler summer days are nice.  I know they won’t last, so I’ll thoroughly enjoy them while they are here.  Somewhere around my late 40’s early 50’s, I stopped wearing sleeveless tops.  I don’t tan, so I felt that keeping my pasty white upper arms covered was the thing to do.  At that time, I wasn’t working out at the gym regularly so they were also a little flabby.  I also felt the same way about my knees.  It didn’t matter what the temperature, I was in a t-shirt and capri’s.

Then one day, I was at a very hot event downtown, showing nothing but forearms and calves and this wonderfully dressed woman who was probably in her 70’s or 80’s walked by me.  She was in a loose, sleeveless shift dress.  Knees and upper arms out there for everyone to see.  She looked fabulous.   She looked way more comfortable than I felt.  And it hit me, why was I setting these limits for myself?  Who said I couldn’t wear sleeveless and shorts if I wanted to.  Since then I’ve slowly started to add a few sleeveless tops here and there and I found some shorts that show my knees, but I still feel comfortable in.  It’s been a wonderful transformation.

This flirty Sonoma Ombre Crinkle Tank from Kohl’s is just what I was looking for.  It’s light and flirty and oh-so-comfortable. How about you, have you let go of any age-related clothing hang-ups?

Preach it girl! Show those arms and legs! I love your top. The ombre color pattern is so pretty, and I love how loose it is. Totally my style!

Yes – let those arms out! 🙂 There really aren’t any fashion rules anymore, right? I think you should wear what you love, no matter your age. And I’m always pretty pale and show that skin anyway! Good for you!

Hi Pam, this is my first time to your blog. I think times have changed in that there are no longer the fashion rules that there used to be about ‘age-appropriate’ clothing. I love your flirty top, especially the ombre shades.
