A spring linen jacket makes the perfect accessory for fickle spring weather. Post may contain affiliate links.
I get cold easily. While I appreciate air conditioning immensely, I don’t like it when it’s really cranked up. I used to visit my aunt in the summer and she always kept her house freezing. She kept a quilt in the living room so that I could curl up in while watching Gunsmoke and What’s My Line (a little throwback for all you of a certain age.) I’m still that way. I always have to take some sort of cover up whenever we go to a restaurant or to a movie. And let’s not forget the grocery store, which is always freezing. This is all to explain why I have more sweaters, jackets and long sleeve shirts in my closet than anything else. I always have to be prepared for cooler temperatures both natural and man made. One of my favorite cover ups is this lightweight linen jacket from J. Jill. It is linen, which makes it perfect for spring and summer, and in a khaki color that goes with just about everything.
You all know that I am a sucker for details and this jacket is loaded with them. First of all, it ties instead of buttoning, which adds a little interest. The pockets have pleating details and the sleeves are sort of scalloped. But my favorite detail is the one that I can’t see, the cute pleating in the back. I love it. These are the kind of things that really sell an article of clothing to me. I think it’s because I sew and I know the extra effort that goes into including them. All those things make this spring linen jacket perfect. It’s color also means that it carries well into fall.
I paired it with a coral Sonoma knit peasant blouse, Kut from the Kloth Jeans and Restricted flats. Oh, and a kitty cat.
