I know what you’re thinking. Frosé? Really? Frosé was sooooo Summer of 2106. Well, you know what, apparently I was too busy dealing with drought. Every day moving the sprinkler from one location in the yard to another, while it seemingly made no difference. I was going crazy. Sun, sun and more sun. Rain so close could smell it, but it never rained on us. This summer, so far, I haven’t had to use the sprinklers at all yet. So, my mind is free to roam to other pleasures, like Frosé. Strawberry Frosé to be exact.
All I can say is that I should have jumped on the bandwagon last year. This would have definitely helped me get through the drought. It’s fruity and a little tart, a grown up slushie. So easy to make up, you’ll want to have some frozen strawberries and rosé ice cubes in the freezer so that you can whip these up in a moments notice. The recipe called for fresh strawberries, but I don’t see why you couldn’t do frozen, you might need to let them thaw for about 10 minutes, so you don’t drive your blender crazy.
I found this recipe in the newspaper. So simple, strawberries, frozen rosé, vodka and Campari. I imagine you could also add maybe a little lime or mint. If you haven’t tried Frosé yet, don’t let another summer go by without doing so!
If you’re not in the mood for froze, this Rosé Sangria is delightful.
