Little Black Polka Dot Dress
One of the items in my French Minimalist Capsule Wardrobe was a blank tank dress. I understand the versatility of a little black tank dress, but it’s not really my style. My untanned, very white arms, were just not feeling the love in the black tank dresses that I tried on. So, I switched up my game and decided that a black t-shirt dress would be more my style. I looked around for awhile and almost decided that I just wasn’t going to have a black dress in my wardrobe, when I found this polka dot black dress at Steinmart! As soon as I tried it on, it was love at first sight.
It is a stretchy, swingy dress and super comfortable, made by Max Edition. I loved the cap sleeves and the subtle change in pattern between the top and the rest of the dress. It’s a little shorter than what I’m used to, but I decided I just didn’t care. There’s all kinds of discussion on the web about what women of a certain age should or should not wear. I’ve decided that I’ve lived 59 years and I can decide what I want to wear, no one else.
I paired it with some flats from Restricted that I found at Marshall’s. The middle daughter brought her boyfriend home for use to meet and this was what I wore to meet them downtown for dinner. It was perfect. I was very comfortable.

I think it’s cute! I am just behind you in age (56), and I also decide what I wear despite what the bloggers say. For cooler weather and into fall, I wonder if the dress could double as a tunic, paired with skinny white or black capris or ankle pants? In any event, it is Cute, Cute Cute!!! I love Leanne’s capsule wardrobes because it gives me lots of ideas to do with all the clothes I have accumulated over the years.
Beautiful dress and you look pretty!

Cute swing dress Pam and I really love those orange-red loafers. Welcome by Thursday and linkup with me, pretty lady. Thanks, Ada. =)
Pam, it’s an absolutely adorable dress and at 59 you totally should wear what you want…especially when it looks that fabulous! You have great legs, for sure, so show them off, my friend! I love this dress and the red flats are the perfect addition! Such a great look.
