Frozen Gin and Tonic

When the latest issue of Imbibe magazine arrived, I was thrilled to see that it’s byline was, “It’s a Gin & Tonic Summer.”   Gin and tonics are my go to drink.  I’ve never met a gin and tonic that I didn’t like.  Even made with cheap gin and even cheaper tonic water, it’s still good to me.  So, I was beyond excited to see a feature article on my feature cocktail!  I’m sure it goes without saying that I have booked every single one of them to try.  Since it is a bazillion degrees outside, I settled on their Frozen Gin and Tonic as my first choice.

Frozen Gin and Tonic

Oh my gosh!!!  I am so in love with this cocktail.   To take my most favorite cocktail and turn it into this refreshing slushie for adults is genius!!  I have already made it twice since the first time.  It’s so crazy easy in my Vitamix.  I love the addition of the cucumber, it’s subtle, but still adds it’s own refreshing twist.  I’m sure it comes as no surprise that since I love gin and tonics, I am pretty picky about my tonics.  Oh sure, like I said above, I’ll drink pretty much even the worst gin and tonics.  But with better gin and better tonic, oh my.  We always have Tonic Syrup in our fridge.  With that, we use our Sodastream to carbonate some water and we have instant homemade tonic.

Frozen Gin and Tonic

This amazing cocktail was created by Rob Krueger from Extra Fancy, Brooklyn, New York.  I can easily say it is my favorite!

Some other favorite frozen cocktails:  Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri and Frozen Raspberry Martini.
