I LOVE making simple syrups and it really does make you feel like a rockstar mixologist. 😉 This ginger simple syrup looks amazing. I have never thought of ginger before. Julie’s cocktail from last week is stunning. No doubt she was the most clicked recipe!! Cheers!

Oh gosh the ginger simple syrup is now listed on my “to do” list! Sounds so refreshing (and the photo is gorgeous, by the way). Like you, I’ve become enamored with simple syrups. Rosemary is my favorite so far, but I’m intrigued by the ginger simple syrup recipe and can’t wait to give it a whirl!

Thank you for posting this on the linkup today! I just made my first simple syrup for new year’s, and the recipe called for equal parts sugar and water. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, and it was way too much! I’m going to try your ratio, suggestion, and I’m obsessed with ginger, so there’s that. 🙂

Ah, my insides are a little warmer just thinking about this! I’m thinking about making this with honey instead of sugar using your ratios from your honey simple syrup post. So delicious! Thanks for bringing it to Saucy Saturdays, Pam.

I make mine a little differently. I boil the water and ginger together forst, to make a very strong infusion, and then strain. I am concerned that the ginger might stick to the pan with the sugar added. I add the sugar to the strained infusion, and then can pour directly into sterilized jars, cover to process in the hot water bath for 15 minutes. I don’t know if it’s any safer or not, but I feel better keeping things like this on my shelf instead of in the fridge.

Love to read all these things. Making me fair thirsty.

Oops. I should have proof-read. I add the sugar to the hot ginger liquid , bring it to a boil to dissolve the sugar, and then bottle it. Sorry. The light grey type on the white background is very hard to read, and it’s small for these old eyes.

[…] What a lovely cocktail this was!  Really simple and I think I’ll use the technique with other fruits.  You simply muddle the kiwi, add liquors and simple syrup, shake, strain and serve.   To add even a little more interest to it, instead of plain simple syrup, I used our homemade Ginger Simple Syrup.
